Pain and stress limits the quality of your life. Massage can help restore the quality, allowing you to be your best. Pain can hinder your ability to really enjoy everything you do. It disrupts how you interact with your family, friends, and career. It's easy to let stress creep up on you. The pressures of work and family can take a toll on your mental health.

High stress ages you inside and out faster than anything else. When you look in the mirror do you see the effects stress has taken on you? If not it may be just a matter of time before worry and pressure digs furrows across your forehead.

The Purpose of Massage Is to Relax

  • Relax your mind so that it "loses" your to do lists, an argument you had at home or work and anything that might be causing worry, at least temporarily.
  • Relax muscle tissues back to their proper length and tension.
  • Relax your entire body to a comfortable state.

It reduces the effects of stress on your body by calming down the nervous system and shifting you out of fight or flight mode. Bodywork also gives instant relief from muscle pain and soreness. The healing power of bodywork is deep and profound.

A Quiet Spirit Massage Therapy

Massage can help with many conditions like back and neck pain, stress, tension, muscle aches and much more.

You will receive an excellent, personal session focused on you and your specific needs.

After your session:

  • You will feel refreshed,
  • with less pain,
  • ready to take care of yourself, your job, and family
  • and have new energy and focus.

When you receive bodywork regularly it changes the way your body reacts to stresses, both mental and physical. Being a massage therapist is a strenuous and challenging job. If I did not get a weekly massage I would not be able to keep up.

I use Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage to loosen and stretch tight, sore muscles or relieve the built up stress caused by your busy life.

Many times your therapist will use a blend of techniques to help you achieve your goals for the session. These nurturing and healing sessions are good for your skin, muscles and mind.

  • Swedish Massage is the most popular and most used modality. It is the perfect way to de-stress and relax.
  • Deep Tissue targets tight, sore, contracted muscles to loosen and stretch muscle fibers and reduce pain.
  • Positional Release erases trigger points like magic. Gentle and safe, muscle tissue is folded and held. 90 seconds later the muscle has released its protective contraction and pain is gone.
  • Raindrop Therapy helps heal the spine and brings balance and wellness to your body.
  • Hot Stones penetrate deeply into the muscles easing tension and glide over your skin like silk.
  • Aromatherapy affects your senses through smell. It 'sets the stage' for your treatment allowing you to relax fully.
  • Salt Glows and Sugar Scrubs exfoliates for healthy and smooth glowing skin.

Massage Helps Fight Pain

The human body is designed to heal itself. Sometimes it needs help.
A skilled massage therapist will go over the information you provide on the intake form and possibly notes from your physician. We will then decide what your goals are for the session.

There are many techniques that will give you the best possible outcome.

Swedish Massage calms down your body and reduces stress. Deep Tissue Massage affects all layers of muscles. Stretching allows you to feel tight muscles that are causing issues in other areas. Hot Stones can 'melt' into sore areas and Ice Therapy will numb irritation and lessen inflammation.

  • Can you tell me more about A Quiet Spirit Massotherapy?

    Established in 2012.

A Quiet Spirit Massotherapy started as a place where I offered massage therapy for relaxation and stress relief. As more people needed relief from pain, I focused on deep massage therapy to help alleviate the discomfort and stiffness associated with muscle spasms.

Massage therapy has been proven to work alongside Doctors and Chiropractors in healing the body as well as the mind.

I would love to show you how massage therapy can be a part of your wellness journey. Book a massage therapy session with me today!

  • Why should I get a massage?

Massage is the easiest way to maintain your optimum health and well-being. Massage increases blood flow sending nutrient-rich blood to every part of your body. Massage also relaxes your mind allowing you to take care of your life more calmly and with clearer focus.

  • What happens during a massage?

When you first arrive at A Quiet Spirit Massotherapy you will be given some paperwork to fill out. Included are brief health questions and drawings of a human body that you may circle any areas that may be troubling you or you feel you need a little bit extra work done. Along with this are papers explaining the policies on payment, cancellations, late arrivals, and an informed consent form.

After you're done with the paperwork we will talk about your health and what you want from this massage. Then you will be given time to undress and get settled on the table.

The basic routine for Swedish massage begins with a soothing head, face, and neck massage and progresses to the hands, arms, feet, and legs before turning over onto your belly for the posterior legs and back massage. As I work around your body I will pay special attention to the areas you circled on the intake form.

  • How often should I get a massage?

Weekly massages help you perform at your best by reducing stress hormones and keeping your muscle fibers relaxed and ready to work!

  • What should I wear?

Before and after the massage you will be dressed in your normal street clothes. During the massage, you will undress to whatever level you are comfortable with. Most people leave just their underwear on. Some people like to take all their clothes off for a massage. That is perfectly ok. You will be properly draped at all times and your modesty is always forefront. The only part of your body that will be exposed is the one being worked on at the time.

  • How long does a massage take?

The actual massage will be 30, 60, or 90 minutes long. Depending on what option you selected. When you come in for your first visit, the paperwork will take about 5-10 minutes, and getting ready for the massage will take you about 5 minutes also. Please make sure you arrive promptly for your appointment time!

  • How will I feel during and after the massage?

Your comfort is a top priority, physically and emotionally. If at any time you feel uncomfortable we can make adjustments so you can relax fully during the massage.

During the massage, you will feel aware of what I am doing to your muscles. During deep work, you will feel heavier pressure than when I'm massaging the superficial layers. It all should feel good and right. If you need more or less pressure it can be adjusted for your needs. You will probably feel very relaxed and may even fall asleep.

Right after the massage, you might want to go home and take a nap if you have the time. Sleep is wonderfully restorative. If you are not used to bodywork you may have some soreness or fatigue. This is normal and it should go away within a day or two. The more massage you get the better you will feel in between sessions.
